Chicago based saxophonist Rob Haight attended Interlochen Arts Academy, Western
Michigan University and completed his degree in music at the Chicago College of Performing Arts at
Roosevelt University. Haight has studied saxophone, improvisation and composition with Bill Sears,
Trent Kynaston, Rick Holland, Jerry DiMuzio, David Bloom, Scott Mason, Mike Smith, Tom Garling and
Mark Colby. Haight has also had additional instruction from recording artists Javon Jackson and Rick
Margitza.
Rob has won a total of seven outstanding soloist awards from the Notre Dame and Elmhurst jazz
festivals and won second prize in the 2005 Union League improvisation contest.
Rob Haight has been involved in musical collaborations on stage with Carl Allen, Jumma Santos
Ayantola, Patti Austin, Doc Severinsen, Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, Steve Houghton, New York
Voices, John Fedchock, Rob Parton, Tom Harrell, Slide Hampton, Phil Woods and Maria Schneider.
