Dawn Larson began formal music lessons on the piccolo at age five. She studied flute and piccolo with the late Frank Kocman of Hammond, Indiana and participated in master classes given by Jan Kocman, principal flute, Winnipeg Symphony; Bart Feller, principal flute, New Jersey Symphony; Walfrid Kujala, piccolo, Chicago Symphony Orchestra (ret). Dawn is a member of the National Flute Association, and an attendee of the annual Midwest Band and Orchestra and National Flute Association conventions.
Dawn plays flute and piccolo in the Naperville Municipal Band, and alto and bass flute in the Naperville Municipal Flute Choir. She is a member of the Grace United Church Orchestra, and performs solo and ensemble works throughout Chicago .
Dawn maintains a studio in Naperville, Illinois, teaching private flute and piccolo lessons for beginning through advanced students.
