Doug is on faculty at North Central College, where he gives Jazz Improvisation lessons.

Doug has studied trumpet with Renold Schilke, Arnold Jacobs, George Bean, Charlie Davis, Robert
Rushford and Mike Goode.
Professional Affiliations:
As a trumpet player, Doug has done recordings with Cher, Jeff Lynne, Pointer Sisters, Curtis
Mayfield, Thomas Dolby, Phil Ramone, Chicago Jazz Orchestra, and Clark Terry. He has played for
motion pictures Fern Gully, Salsa, Marrying Man, and TV shows Major Dad, Highway to Heaven and
Svengoolie. He was in the house band for the Late Show with Joan Rivers for its duration. He has
played live shows with Ray Charles, Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Glen Campbell, Burt Bacharach,
Chicago Jazz Festival, and the Jerusalem Jazz Festival.
As a music arranger, Doug has written for Roy Orbison, Jeff Lynne, Cher, George Benson, Thomas Dolby,
Phil Ramone, "Late Show," "Fern Gully" and "Major Dad."
Doug currently performs with the Chicago Jazz Orchestra, Brad Williams' 21st Century Review, Eddie
Harrison Jump Stars, and the North Central College Faculty Combo.
